Dear Teachers,
Our family has been in the process of adopting a two year old. We will name her Rosie Kate and she is currently in an orphanage in China. The Adoption Agency just sent us an appointment to pick her up on the first day of Fall break. We need to leave early to get situated and the flight is many hours. We had hoped to bring Anna and Emma so they could meet their new sister as well as see her Orphanage. The total trip is 14 days because we have to do paperwork and must have a visa for her to come back into the country.
I have already talked with Dr. Graham. She said that she thought it would be an awesome experience for them, She said, when I had a date I needed to clear it with the you. The trip will require them to miss October 14th through the 18th ( five days of school) We also need to leave on October 3rd. Would it be possible for Anna and Emma to take their Science, Math, and Social Studies nine weeks test earlier in the week of scheduled exams? We really want them to come on the trip. The fact that the first week of travel is scheduled during Fall Break really makes it easier to take them. Could they be given assignments to work on during that first week of the second nine weeks? Please let me know your thoughts. Thanks again for teaching my girls! They have learned a lot this quarter.
Sincerely,
Tricia
